bored at work on a wednesday

Hello, my name is James,
So very fond of the dames.
How I liked to play games
With minds and their frames:
Spend hours convincing each
I’m not just the same
Then shoot down their heart
In a shower of flames.
Over my heart I had reins,
The part you could not maim.
Like a child and his trains,
Something one cannot claim.
‘Til across my beer, the table I saw
The key to unlock the door and
A need to merge and be one while
Scrabbling over to discover her name.
My heart beating quickly I came.
For my heart, she had taken aim
And hit hard to make me lame.
A face quickly red’ning in shame.
For all of my legend
For all of my fame
Surely it couldn’t be over
And if so: who do I blame?
But such a feeling is hard to feign,
I ran into wind, cold and rain,
Racked my tiny little brains
To find I was searching in vain.
Because that James that you know
The James of the dames
Has succumbed to a woman
And is now finally tamed.
