... drift off ...

 … drift off …

… lift off …

… into sleep ...

… dream deep …

...

… go under …

… to the rift …

… go plunder …

… take a sift …

...

… come see …

… imagine me …

… in the sea …

… dream of me …

...

… open up …

… show me you …

… open up …

… tell me true …

...

… my spell …

… i cast free …

… this well …

… to keep thee …

… i go under …

… to the rift …

… i go plunder …

… take a sift …

… drift off …

… lift off …

… into sleep ...

… dream deep …

… always …

… forever …

… with you …

… feeding me ...

Jack Frost, first portent of winter (A song)

Jack Frost, first portent of winter, is lying on the lawn,

Jack Frost, sleepy and tired, he lets out a yawn,

Come Jack, and sleep on our ground, we say,

Come Jack, we’ll have you round, we do say,

Jack Frost, first portent of winter, is over to stay.

Jack Frost, first portent of winter, is sign’ling our doom,

Jack Frost, creeping and sleeping, is lyin’ in our room,

There Jack freezes our bed, it grows cold,

There Jack fucks with our heads, they go cold,

Jack Frost, first portent of winter, makes our love old.

Jack Frost, first portent of winter, he nips at my toes,

Jack Frost, smiling and laughing, he watches you go,

No Jack, don’t watch me barefoot on the drive,

Go Jack, please leave me alone on the drive,

Jack Frost, first portent of winter, on this he thrives.

Fuck you, Jack, I’ll wait for the spring,

Fuck you, Jack, you’ll hear laughter ring,

I’ll lay on my lawn with the daffodils,

Breathe new love and take my fill,

Fuck you, old Jack, I will find me a fling.

Jack Frost, first portent of winter, he can’t touch me now,

Jack Frost, crying in sunshine, I’m taking a bow,

No Jack, I tell you, you’ll not breach our door,

No Jack, you see now, we’ve locked the door,

Jack Frost, first portent of winter, we’ve got the floor.

The Hourglass

The hourglass runs low.

I wait and watch,

But it doesn't slow.

It gets faster every year.

I wait and watch,

It allays not my fears.

Death is the Door to Life.

I sit and read,

To ease my growing strife.

One tome floods my mind.

I sit and read,

For answers I need to find.

The next life doth call.

I look and listen,

Is it my time to fall?

What, for me, is here?

I look and listen -

Enough for my final years.

As my energy doth rise,

I wait and watch,

See it all in my eyes,

The anguishes of old age.

I wait and watch

As I walk to my final page.

To the baby buried beyond the back fence

To the baby buried beyond the back fence,

Your life will have been of huge consequence.

For your parents who everyday grieve,

With those tears will intricately weave

A tapestry of how your life would have been,

All the things you’d have done and seen;

Alongside your life with the angels, the wait

For your family to one day appear at the gate

And join you, now forever,

An eternity at last together.
